Power of Women and Children (POWC) was honoured to celebrate International Mandela Day alongside the dedicated members of the Youth Club of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation at Lehae Secondary School.
Mandela Day reminds us that every individual has the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others through acts of kindness, compassion, and service. Inspired by the legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, our team joined hands with young people who are passionate about building stronger, more caring communities.
The day was filled with smiles, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to giving back. It was heartwarming to witness young leaders embracing the values of unity, volunteerism, and social responsibility—principles that continue to inspire our work at POWC every day.
A special highlight of the celebration was the generous donation of a beautiful celebration cake from Boxer Store Lenasia 2. This thoughtful contribution brought joy to everyone present and served as a reminder that partnerships with local businesses play a vital role in strengthening our communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Boxer Store Lenasia 2 for their continued generosity and unwavering support. Your kindness helped make our Mandela Day celebration truly memorable, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to making a positive impact.
We would also like to thank the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation Youth Club and Lehae Secondary School for welcoming us and for their dedication to empowering young people to become active citizens who contribute positively to society.
